I agree with many of your points here, but you seem to think that some magical solution is going to burst out into the public scene when all hope seems lost, some amazing innovation.

Civilizations would come back in an idealized anarcho-primitivist world, maybe even on the scale of the Roman or Greek empires. However, the capacity to sustain industrial civilization relies on an abundance of fossil fuels (which are used to make the plastics and certain components that allow for the creation of your beloved photovoltaic and wind-powered energy sources), as well as rare-earth metals that also allow for the construction of complex machinery. "If" civilization ends before the near-total depletion of these materials, we might have some small stuff to squabble over once the dust settles, but honestly..... we would have to wait for more than 100 million years for fossil fuels to replenish themselves, and the metals may never come back, only to be degraded as they become reforged and recycled. They do not merely live a brutal and deadly lifestyle, but are also utterly incapable of love and murder anyone who gets the idea of leading / commanding others as a "wizard". It was a particularly disturbing story since the anthropologist (protagonist) of the story sacrifices her daughter to that culture in order to advance her career. Her daughter becomes incapable of living in normal society and incapable of loving her own mother or brother. The brother who's older when he starts is happy to leave the hellhole behind since it is of course the men that are murdered out of hand in that society - because it's the men that have developed all technical advances in our history. So that's what would be necessary to maintain anarcho-primitivism, rampant gender inequality and wholesale oppression & destruction of men. On top of destruction of everyone's spirit.Richard Kuliszhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05450367878517586463noreply@blogger.com
